System Requirements

This document includes hardware and software recommendations for Harland Financial Solutions’ DecisionPro™ application. These recommendations are based on minimum specifications of required software with our products running solely in a known environment with predictable performance. The environment is based on a sample 30-user network with a volume of 2000 applications per month and a retention period of 18 months. These guidelines are not to be considered purchase requirements.Your technical team is responsible for determining actual system requirements based on your production environment.

Note: At least 3 computers are required as a “Test System” and must be available for installation during your initial implementation. The specifications for the “Test System” are minimal and are not necessarily as robust as the production system. Details of the testing environment and your production environment will be discussed between your technical personnel and Harland Financial Solutions during the kick-off meeting.

Required Hardware

Network Environments

  • Microsoft® Networking, TCP/IP

  • Microsoft Client for Workstations

Connectivity

  • 100MB Backbone connection for Database Server and100MB Backbone connection for Application Services (same backbone, zero hops between these two servers)
  • 10MB connection from Workstations
  • Fractional T1 service between Central Site and Remote Sites
  • Minimum of 128Kbps CIR Dedicated on fractional T1 service
  • Maximum of 3 hops from any Workstation to Servers

SQL Database Server

  • Intel® Pentium® IV or greater, IBM-compatible PC
  • 1GB RAM
  • 18GB Storage, Raid V Disk Subsystem
  • VGA or higher color monitor (256 color minimum)
  • Network interface adapter supporting TCP/IP
  • CD ROM drive

Web Application Server(1)

  • Pentium IV or greater, IBM-compatible PC
  • 2GB RAM
  • 8 GB Storage
  • VGA or higher color monitor (256 color minimum)
  • Network interface adapter supporting TCP/IP
  • CD ROM drive

Application Services Server

  • Pentium IV or greater, IBM-compatible PC

  • Additional requirements for the Credit Bureau Service & Fax:
      -Two or more asynchronous communications ports
      -Two or more Hayes compatible 28.8k modems
      -Dedicated phone lines

  • Network Printer access (Hewlett Packard LaserJet® or 100% compatible)

Dealer Interface Server(2)

  • Pentium IV or greater, IBM-compatible PC

Note: These are optional 3rd party software products and components that are not provided by Harland Financial Solutions and must be purchased separately from your vendor of choice.
